About Sunset Camp

Sunset camp is located 12 km from Rum Village in the heart of the protected area of the Wadi Rum desert. The camp is situated at the crossroads of white, red, and black desert where camel races start during the wintertime. Most people agree that Sunset Camp is the best place to view the sunset and the sunrise. It is recommended by Lonely Planet, the Rough Guide, Blue Guide, Guide du Routard and many other guidebooks and magazines.

Mohammed Sabah Al-Zalabeh first came up with the idea to build an overnight Bedouin camp for visitors 20 years ago. You may enjoy the spectacular views while relaxing in the soft red sand. There are private tents for up to 4 people and large traditional Bedouin tents that can accommodate much bigger groups.

At the center of the camp there is a round common tent where everyone gathers around the fire to enjoy Bedouin dinner, music and dancing.

Naturally, the site is equipped with a bathroom. Would you prefer sleep in the open air? No, problem! There is a special bivouac place outside that will protect you from the wind.
